Privacy Policy
Last updated October 18, 2026. Effective October 18, 2026.
Something Blue is a wedding planning app made by Framework Studio ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what personal data the Something Blue app and this website collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. We wrote it to describe what the app actually does today, not a wish list.
Short version: We collect the account details you sign up with and the wedding information you choose to add. We store it in Google Firebase. We do not sell your data, we do not run ads, and we do not use analytics or tracking. The only outside company that ever sees a slice of your wedding data is Anthropic, and only when you use the in-app assistant.
1. Who we are
Something Blue is operated by 168th Street Entertainment LLC, doing business as Framework Studios. For any privacy question or request, email legal@frameworkstudio.dev. Our mailing address and the company entity responsible for your data are listed in the contact section below.
2. What we collect
We only collect what you give us. There is no hidden background collection, no advertising identifiers, and no location tracking.
Account information
When you create an account, we collect and store:
- Your email address, used to sign you in, verify your account, and send account emails such as password resets.
- A display name, if you provide one.
- Your password, if you sign up with email and password. Passwords are handled and stored by Google Firebase Authentication. We never see your password in readable form.
If you sign in with Google or Apple instead, we receive your email address and name from that provider to create your account. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email" feature, we receive Apple's private relay address rather than your real email. We do not receive your Google or Apple password.
We record whether your email address has been verified, because some sharing features require a verified email.
Wedding information you add
Something Blue is a place to keep wedding details, so most of what we store is content you type in. Depending on what you use, this can include:
| Area | What it can contain |
|---|---|
| Your wedding | Both partners' names, your wedding date (or that it is still to be decided), and where you are in planning. |
| Events | Event titles, dates, venue names, guest counts, and free-text notes. |
| Vendors | Vendor names, categories, status, and the contact details you enter for them, such as a contact name, phone number, email address, and website, plus your notes. |
| Vendor files | Documents you upload, such as contracts, quotes, or invoices (up to 20 MB per file). |
| Key dates and tasks | Milestone dates, task titles, who a task is assigned to, and completion status. |
| Links and notes | Web links you save and any free-text notes you write. |
| People | Names of people connected to an event, their relationship to you, and lodging notes. |
Some of this is personal data about other people, such as a vendor's phone number or the name of a guest. You are responsible for having a reasonable basis to add someone else's contact details, and for only adding what you need.
Shared weddings and invites
Something Blue is built for two or more people to plan together. When you invite someone, we store the email address you invite so we can deliver the invite and connect their account. Everyone you add to a wedding can see and edit the wedding's information, including what you added, and their name and email are visible to the other members.
What we do not collect
- We do not use any analytics, advertising, attribution, or crash-reporting services. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising SDK, and no third-party tracker in the app or on this site.
- We do not collect your device's location.
- We do not access your camera, photo library, or contacts. When you attach a vendor file, your device's standard file picker lets you choose a single file to upload, and nothing else.
- The app does not send push notifications and does not register for them.
This website
This website does not ask you for personal data. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as IP addresses, to run and secure the site. It does not use cookies for advertising or analytics.
3. Why we use it
- To run your account and sign you in securely.
- To provide the app, meaning to store and show the wedding information you add and sync it between the people sharing your wedding.
- To let you plan together by delivering invites and sharing a wedding among its members.
- To answer your questions when you contact support, and to send necessary account emails such as verification and password resets.
- To power the Olive assistant when you choose to use it, as described below.
- To keep the service safe, for example by limiting automated abuse of the assistant.
We do not use your wedding information for advertising, and we do not sell it.
4. The Olive assistant and Anthropic
Something Blue includes an optional in-app assistant called Olive that can answer planning questions and suggest tasks, notes, or links. Olive is powered by Anthropic's Claude models. Olive only runs when you open it and send a message, and it only saves something to your wedding after you review and confirm the suggestion.
When you send Olive a message, our secure server sends the following to Anthropic to generate a reply:
- Both partners' names.
- Where you are in planning and your wedding date, or that it is still to be decided.
- The titles of your events (up to about 20) and the titles of your open tasks (up to about 25).
- The messages you type to Olive in that conversation.
We deliberately do not send Anthropic your vendor contact details, uploaded files, the contents of your notes, your saved links, guest or people details, key-date details, or the email addresses and names of the people sharing your wedding. Only event and task titles are shared, not their surrounding details.
Anthropic processes this data to return a response to you. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, it does not use data submitted through its API to train its models. Anthropic's own handling of API data is governed by its agreement with us. We do not store your Olive conversations on our servers; the conversation lives only on your device during that session. We do keep anonymous counters of how much the assistant is used, to control cost and prevent abuse. If a message trips a safety filter, we log that an event happened, along with account identifiers, but not the content of the message.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it for advertising. We share data only with the service providers that make the app work, and only as needed to run it:
| Provider | What they handle |
|---|---|
| Google (Firebase) | Account sign-in (Firebase Authentication), storage of your wedding information (Cloud Firestore), storage of your uploaded files (Cloud Storage), and the secure server function that talks to the assistant (Cloud Functions). |
| Anthropic | Generates the Olive assistant's replies from the limited summary described in section 4, only when you use the assistant. |
We may also disclose information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition. If that happens, we will keep this policy's protections in place or let you know of any change.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your account and wedding information for as long as your account is active and your wedding exists in the app, so it is there when you come back. When you delete data as described below, we remove it, subject to the honest limits in the next section.
7. Deleting your account and data
You can delete your account at any time from the app's settings, under the account or danger-zone section. We describe exactly what happens today so there are no surprises:
- If you share your wedding with a partner or others: deleting your account removes your sign-in account and removes you from the shared wedding. The other members keep the wedding and its information, which is usually what a couple wants. Your name and email are removed from the member list.
- If you are the only person on your wedding: deleting your account removes your sign-in account and immediately cuts off all access to that wedding's information. Because no one is left on the wedding, it can no longer be opened by anyone. We are finishing an automated process that also erases this leftover wedding data and its files from our storage. Until that automated cleanup is fully live, email legal@frameworkstudio.dev or support@frameworkstudio.dev and we will delete the remaining data for you promptly.
You can also ask us to delete specific information, or all of your data, by emailing legal@frameworkstudio.dev from the email address on your account.
8. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, receive a copy of it, or object to or restrict certain uses. You can exercise most of these directly in the app by viewing and editing your wedding information or deleting your account. For anything else, email legal@frameworkstudio.dev and we will respond within the time your local law requires. We will not charge you for a reasonable request or treat you differently for making one.
Note for the site owner:
Owner action needed: the specific legal rights that apply (for example under GDPR, UK GDPR, or the California CCPA and CPRA) depend on where Something Blue operates and where its users live. Confirm the applicable frameworks and any required jurisdiction-specific disclosures before launch, then replace this note with the confirmed rights language.
9. Children's data
Something Blue is intended for adults planning a wedding. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal data, email legal@frameworkstudio.dev and we will delete it.
10. How we protect it
Your data is stored on Google Firebase, which encrypts data in transit and at rest. Access to each wedding is restricted to the people who are members of that wedding, enforced by security rules on our database and file storage. The assistant runs on a secure server function, and the key it uses to reach Anthropic is never placed in the app on your device. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to limit who can reach it.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and change the "last updated" date at the top. If the change is significant, we will make a reasonable effort to tell you, for example by email or a notice in the app.
